Synthetic Drugs

Get Smart About Drugs - beware of synthetic drugs. The fake pot is known as K2 or Spice. They are sold at smoke shops, convenience stores and gas stations as incense, potpourri or bath salts right next to candy or bubblegum. As school starts, they are turning up in the backpacks and lockers of students. As of this month, the synthetic drugs has spurred more than 4,100 calls to Poison Control CentersUse of the designer drugs have been linked to death, violence, hallucinations, extreme paranoia and delusions. The Drug Enforcement Administration or DEA banned 5 key ingredients of K2 or Spice in March making the product illegal to sell or possess in the U.S., but some are finding a way around the core ingredients.
